Welcome!

Hello!

If you are ready for change,
 I can help.

I am most interested in working with those who are ready for change.  I firmly believe that if an individual, a couple or a family is ready for growth I can help.  There are many potential paths for each of us in life though at times we could use an objective and nonjudgmental perspective to help us find the best path.  I can provide that perspective along with evidence based techniques to guide you through.

While I have been comfortable working with a broad range of concerns, my graduate research involved social anxiety, test anxiety and anxiety related to self-identity/self-worth.  Over the years I have developed an approach that includes the connections between our mind, body, heart, and soul.  More technically, I use Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Interpersonal Psychology, and Behavioral Psychology guided by Psychodynamic theory.  I will give you tools to help you change your life.  For 15 years I have been working with individuals, couples, and families who want to improve their lives.  The most common description of my style has been that I am easy to talk to and able to make a difference.  I also have significant experience helping people manage chronic pain.

If you are ready to feel better and/or if you would like to improve your relationship with your partner, your children or others I can help you.  One of the most difficult to understand aspects of my work is that people tend to not change until after hitting "rock bottom".  Why wait until after losing so much (relationships, jobs, health)?  One of my main goals is to help you make changes before it's too late.

I can help you with:

Addictions (substances, internet, sexual, gambling, online gaming, etc.)
Anger management
Anxiety (extensive training in managing anxiety and stress)
Bipolar disorder
Chronic pain management
Complex Grieving
Depression
Eating disorders
Parenting issues
Relationship struggles
Self Injurious Behaviors (e.g. cutting)
Stress management
Teen issues

Call my number below and leave your name, phone number, and the best time to call and I will return your call as soon as possible.  Follow the "Contact, Paperwork, Location" link at the bottom or top of this page to contact me by email, get required paperwork and to view maps of my office location with photos of the building I'm in.  (I'm at 719 Olde Hickory Road Suite A, Lancaster PA, 17601)  I am also able to conduct Telehealth sessions using a HIPAA compliant online streaming service.  However, there are some limitations and not all insurances cover telehealth (I know Highmark does but for other insurances you will need to contact them).

About me:

The path I chose was not the “traditional path” (after high school I spent 8 years exploring different options including 4 years in the military). At that point I found my desired destination hadn’t changed. I’ve always been interested in helping others. Now I’m in the position to help you along your path.

My undergraduate degree is from Temple University and my graduate degree from the University of Connecticut, an APA approved program (earned 2004). I completed my pre-doctoral and postdoctoral internships at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

I worked at Franklin and Marshall’s counseling center for the first three years after I graduated. I then chose to join Life Management Associates (a group of 18 therapists) and worked with them for five years when the group closed. My private practice opened on July 3rd 2013.

My clients have generally described me as easy to feel comfortable with but also challenging in terms of keeping them on track.
